The idea of sanctuary underpins this new family home in Hawthorn East. Behind a restrained street facade, the plan unfolds around a quiet, sun-filled courtyard, with living zones arranged north and south to draw light deep into the interior.
Entry is through a sheltered loggia, where a triangular skylight leads the eye toward water and garden beyond. At its centre, a gallery-like spine grounds the home - to the rear, kitchen, meals and family spaces open to landscape; to the front, study and living areas extend to a private terrace.
